KIDS MOVIE FEST IS A SPACE WHERE YOUNG PEOPLE DISCOVER CINEMA, CREATIVITY, AND THEIR OWN VOICE.WE SUPPORT FILM AS AN ART FORM AND CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS TO LEARN DOCUMENTARY AND FICTION FILMMAKING IN UKRAINE AND INTERNATIONALLY.

Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the festival has had to suspend its regular format. However, Kids Movie Fest has continued its work through ongoing online and offline projects for children and young people.Today, we create educational, cultural, and integration-based initiatives that help young people learn filmmaking, express themselves creatively, and build connections with others.
We also develop international exchanges and collaborative projects, including initiatives that support Ukrainians living in migration because of the war.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. THE FESTIVAL TEAM INVITES YOUNG INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS, AS WELL AS GROUPS OF STUDENTS FROM FILM SCHOOLS AND STUDIOS, TO TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITION.
- 2. THE AUTHORS OF THE FILMS (DIRECTORS AND/OR PRODUCERS) MUST BE BETWEEN 8 AND 18 YEARS OLD.

3. APPLICANTS MAY SUBMIT FILMS MADE FROM 2022 ONWARDS.
4. THE RUNNING TIME OF EACH COMPETITION FILM MUST NOT EXCEED 15 MINUTES.
5. THE FILM MUST BE UPLOADED ONLINE VIA A FILE-SHARING SERVICE, AND THE LINK MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE APPLICATION.
6. SCREENING FORMAT FOR THE FESTIVAL: FULL HD.
7. FILM LANGUAGE: ORIGINAL LANGUAGE. FILMS IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE AGGRESSOR STATE (RUSSIAN) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
8. SUBTITLE LANGUAGE: UKRAINIAN OR ENGLISH.

The fourth Kids Movie Fest International Children’s Film Festival took place on 30–31 October 2021 at Kyiv Cinema House., during the COVID-19 lockdown. The festival welcomed international guests, showcased inspiring films, and offered professional workshops, lectures, and creative meetings with film industry figures.
A special feature of the 2021 festival was its accessibility: all events were interpreted into sign language. The festival was also deeply inclusive, with a dedicated programme section featuring films by young Deaf directors from across Ukraine.

AWARDS, PRIZES AND OPPORTUNITIES
CHILDREN VALUE RECOGNITION, ENCOURAGEMENT, AND JOYFUL REWARDS. THAT IS WHY OUR FESTIVAL FEATURES 26 NOMINATIONS.
YOUNG DIRECTORS, ACTORS, AND PRODUCERS FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND CITIES RECEIVE PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMAS, FESTIVAL STATUETTES, AND SPECIAL PRIZES.
Our festival is supported by friends and partners from across the film industry: Ukrainian film companies, studios, production teams, and individuals who care about the future of Ukrainian cinema. Each nominee receives a special prize, and professional training remains one of the most meaningful awards. These prizes include film courses, camp certificates, equipment rental certificates, filmmaking gear, books, and gifts from festival partners. The festival also ends with one of its most exciting traditions the auction.
